The Poler Express

Saturday Hunter and Maggie got to ride the Poler Express in Grapevine, TX.  We all had a great time!

Before you get on the train you watch a Christmas show inside a big tent.  Hunter liked singing along!

During the show they asked all the kids to come up on stage and sing jingle bells.  Hunter was so excited.  Here he is jumping off the stage when he was done.  You couldn't see him during the song. :(  There were too many big kids in front of him.

After the show we walked through the Christmas trees and snow...

Sweet Maggie.  She didn't feel well.  We took her to the doctor the day before and she had a sinus infections. :(  Poor baby!  She still had fun though!

Hunter loved meeting Santa on Thursday... so here is the real story of our awesome Thursday.

Okay for those of you who have not gone to see Santa at North Park Mall in Dallas... it's kind of a big deal.  This Santa is awesome!  He has been in the Thanksgiving day parade in NYC, he is the Santa at North Park every year, he is known nation wide for being Saint Nick, and he teaches a "Santa school" in CO.  So when you go see him in Dallas you have to get a ticket early or you won't be able to see him.  So our goal was to leave the house in Lindsay by 7:30 Thursday morning.  We were rolling down the drive way at 7:34!!!  Pretty good! :)  Maggie got up at 6 am that morning, which is pretty early for that sweet girl.  She took a little nap in the car on the way there, but I was hoping she would sleep longer!  Anyway... we made it to North Park at 9:15ish and i was a little nervous because I wanted to be there at 9.  You see, they start giving out tickets at 9 am and last year we got there at 9:30 and was number 82!  This year we were 67!  Ohh yeah! :)

There just so happend to be a...

right next to Santa's house so we wasted some time looking at the Mickey stuff.  Santa has storytime at 10:30 so we needed to do something until then!  Maggie loved the Disney store!  She hugged and kissed a bunch of Mickeys and they had this castle she could walk in.  She loved it! :)  You know Hunter loves anything Disney.

Well then it was finally Storytime! 

Hunter was so excited!  We had pretty good seats too!  Maggie wasn't to interested.  She hung out with Honey during story time.

There he is!!  Santa told 2 stories.  One was about Trouble the elf.  Hunter can tell you all about Trouble!  In fact Trouble has been calling us on the phone lately... "With a Knock, knock, knock and a stomp, stomp, stomp and a Santa, Santa, Santa Claus!"  His other story was about a dragon that came to the North Pole.  Hunter can't stop talking about it! :)

So then after storytime we ate lunch.  The kids were hungry and so were we!  Then it was off to a puppet show!  They have this puppet show with Scrooge.  During the show Hunter asked him if his name was on Santa's list.  Well it was and Scrooge told him Santa had down that he was going to be giving him socks. Hunter stood up and said, "I don't need any socks.  I want a tatar (guitar) and a new jersey."  Everyone laughed.  He will tell you about how that Scrooge was mean! :)  

After the puppet show is was Santa time!  Ohh Hunter was so excited!  Maggie was tired, but we wanted to catch him before he went on break.  

Maggie didn't know what to think.  She didn't really cry, but I think she would have done better if she wasn't so tired.  

Hunter talked and talked to Santa.  He told Santa he was going to leave chocolate chip cookies for him because they were Santa's favorites, and he told him he was going to leave apples and carrots for the reindeer.  Santa was so nice and sweet!  He asked Hunter what he wanted and talked to him about his reindeer.  Hunter was so excited.  He was jumping up and down afterwards. 

Then after we met Santa we had one more thing to do... Build-a-bear!  Hunter had never done that before.  He had a couple of bears from build-a-bear but has never gotten to do it himself.  So off we went...

He decided he wanted to make a Rudolph and Maggie wanted to girl reindeer, Clarice.  Here he is loving on the heart he put inside Rudolph.

Hunter gave both reindeer a bath.  He loved it!  In fact on the way home he said we needed to go back and give them another bath! :)

We had a great time and they both slept with their reindeer all the way home! :)

Here comes Santa Claus... Here comes Santa Claus

Yesterday we made it to see Santa!  Yay!  More pictures and stories to come...

Then we all made reindeer with hand and foot prints... Maggie wasn't a big fan, but she made one! :)

Yep... she got in one of the holes in the shelf thing that our tv sits on.  What a stinker! :)  Love her!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

So I really wanted to post this last week, but never had a chance to sit down and do it... So anyway here we go!

Last Saturday we (meaning Daddy and Uncle David) put up our Christmas lights!!  Yay!  They look awesome!!  I wish I had a picture!  Now let me remind you of last years lights... well i didn't take ANY pictures because I was a little embarrassed.  They were sooo ghetto!  They were this blueish color... some blinked... some faded in and out... and they didn't plug in end to end so Ben had to rig it with all of these extension cords.  Yeah... it was awful!  This year we have the multi colored LED lights.  I wanted to do colored lights because back when I was a kid my Daddy put up the old school big colored lights and I loved them.  I thought Hunter and Mags would like the colored lights the best. :)  And we got a blow up Mickey!  Hunter and Maggie were so excited!!!  Here is Maggie when she saw the Mickey for the first time...

Then last Sunday we went and picked out our Christmas tree!  

Hunter picked the tree and then was hoping that Alvin and the chipmunks lived in our tree!  He is so funny! :)

We had a great time picking a tree and decorating it!  Hunter was a big help this year, and Maggie had done really well!  She hasn't taken too many ornaments off... yet! :)

We are ready for Christmas!!!

Beautiful fall leaves... Did we go on vacation???

Umm... not that I know of...

Ohh wait... that is our little tree in the front yard!  Ben and I have been watching this tree change.  I wish we would have taken pictures everyday because it has changed colors everyday!  Crazy!  I don't think it was near this pretty last year!  Maybe the wind blew too hard last year... I think I will enjoy our pretty little tree this fall.  Who knows, all the leaves might be gone by Friday.

So on to our wonderful Sunday!

Ben and I just enjoyed being with the kids today!  Maggie had been sick the night before (I don't know if it was a stomach bug or just something she ate, but she is a big girl now... the stomach bug as a big girl = super gross!) so we did not go to church this morning.  =(  We will be watching in online either tomorrow or Tuesday! (www.beltway.org)  So anyway... I got an early start on laundry while Ben played and played and played with the Hunter-man! 

They played with this giant teddy bear one of my awesome cheerleaders gave to Hunter to start off the morning... and then once it warmed up out they went!

Hunter is getting better at football!  He LOVES it!  

He will now tell you just how you need to catch the right way and how your need to hold the football when you throw a pass like Colt McCoy!

He can throw really well now!  

And he is "super fast like Dash!"

So while we were outside Maggie was sleeping (don't worry I had the door open and kept checking on her every few minutes!).  Then once we went in and ate lunch it was time for Hunter's nap so we got some Maggie time...

Maggie loves to go find her baby!  She will find the baby's eyes and point and say "eyes" and then she claps for herself!  So cute! 

She also loves her new chair!  She sits in it all the time and she also climbs in Hunter's too!
