Thursday in RR...

I am sorry for the week 1/2 of no blogs, but I am finally finishing up with the vacay pics.  I have new pictures of Maggie that I want to share, but I must finish vacation first... So on to Red River! 

Thursday morning Kara, Mike, Ben and I rode on the 4 wheelers to Goose Lake!  We had so much fun! I LOVE riding 4 wheelers, however I must say it is much easer to drive than it is to ride on the back.  Boy did our butts hurt!!!

And we still have it!!! This was our first time to stunt since... ummm... before I got pregnant with Mag Moe.  Yay!  Ben so didn't want to stunt, but I'm glad I talked him into it!  He was glad we did when we were done! :)

Then on the way back Ben did this! 

We have our initials carved in an Aspen on the way to Goose Lake! :)

So then once we got down and back into RR we had lunch and took Hunter to do...

SLIDE!!!  

Isn't he the cutest!!! He LOVED this slide!  

Maggie went with us and watched!  Next time, Maggie, you can go! :)

Daddy took him to the slide on Monday and he talking about going back ever since! 

Yay!  He could have done this all day! 

After the slide it was time for the shoot out!  They have a shoot out every other day at Fry's Old Town.  Hunter was so excited to watch!  I remember going and watching it when I was little! 

Oh yeah and Hunter has a new love... Stewarts Orange Cream Soda!

Here is one of the cowboys in the shoot out!  Hunter loved the part where someone shot someone's pants off.  He still talks about it! 

After the show Hunter got to get his very on sherif's badge! 

And Maggie got one, too! 

Thursday evening we went up to Bob Cat pass and had a "Cowboy evening".  It was a lot of fun.  There was music, good food, and of course cowboy stuff.

This was the entertainer while we were eating.  We also had a camp fire and more music after we ate.

Look who one of the performers is... "the cowboy who saved my hat!"  Hunter was so excited!  He did a great job, too!  And we found out he is a champion skier.  He also wrote the songs he sang.  He even sang a song about Jesus!  What a wonderful role model!  

By the end of the evening Hunter wanted to do a little roping!  Here he is with his cow.   After a few ropes he thought that cow was to skinny.  He kept going over and getting some hay to feed the cow! :)  Too cute! 

We had a wonderful Thursday!! 

Wonderful Wednesday in RR...

Wednesday morning it was my turn to go with my Dad on the 4 wheelers.  It was sooo much fun!  We went up to Goose Lake (soooo pretty!).  Did I ever tell you that i LOVE aspen trees??  Well I do!  And I would have one in my yard if they could live in Abilene!

Anyway... back to vacation...

So Coach and I went 4 wheeling and Hunter went to VBS again!  Daddy stayed home with the Mags!  I think we all had a pretty good morning!  I wish I had a picture of me and Coach, but we didn't take any pictures. =(  We all met back at the cabin for lunch...

After lunch it was nap time for the kids. While they were napping Ben and I had a much needed alone time!  We walked around RR and hung out!  It was so much fun!  I LOVE being with that man! 

We ate dinner downstairs with Aunt Sarah and everyone.  After dinner we were on a mission to see some ELK....

My cousin Luke sent us on a wild ride, but no luck with elk... well until the way home!

On the drive back down to RR 3 cows (girl elk) crossed the road right in front of us!  It was awesome!  I wish I would have been a big bull elk, but hey I'm not going to complain! 

We didn't take many pictures on Wednesday, but we have a lot for Thursday!  I'll post them soon! 

Ohh yeah... I almost forgot...

This is Bill, Bill the bird!  This little fellow fell out of his nest right in front of the cabins.  Aunt Sarah and Hunter would go out and talk to Bill.  They named him and would check on him all day!  Hunter LOVED Bill the bird!  Ben and I were worried every night when we went to bed.  We were afraid Bill would be gone in the morning.  Well on Friday, he "flew away".  Anyway... Hunter still prays for Bill sometimes! =)

Vacay Day 2...

Tuesday started out a little rough... well for me at least.  Maggie woke up, count them... 6 TIMES that night!  I think it was a record!  Really!!  Anyway... Ben and Coach woke up early and went off to ride 4 wheelers!  They rode up 4th of July canyon, which is very rough, but they had a blast!  Hunter went with Honey to VBS at the community house.  It's kind of funny because I remember when I was young I went to VBS in Red River one week.  Hunter LOVED it!  I was also glad he got to go because we don't have VBS at our church at home.  He ended up going each day they had it and came home with a Bible the last day.  Now we both have a Bible from VBS in Red River!  Pretty cool... don't ya think! =)

After Bible school we all had to go...

Throw rocks in the creek!!!  Of course! 

Coach stood on the bridge and watched! 

This was the walk back to the cabin... Hunter would rather ride than walk! 

After a much needed nap it was time for...

horse back riding!!!!  Hunter woke up that morning asking if we were going to get to go ride horse today!  He was so excited, but he realized we had lost his cowboy hat!!!  We packed his black one but it was nowhere to be found!  So we ran into a store on the way out of town to get his hat! 

We are ready to go!!  This is Ursula by the way...

Here we go...

While we were riding Hunter's cowboy hat flew off!  He was so upset!!  So we stopped and the little cowboy who was leading us stopped and got it for him.  This guy had to have been no older than 12 and he was either related to someone who owned the ranch or was good friends with the owner, I'm not sure.  He was a local and we found out later that he is also a champion skier!  Anyway...  I think his name was Hank, but Hunter called him "the cowboy who saved my hat".  Hunter told everyone about him!  "The cowboy who saved my hat" is his hero!  He prays for him every night... still!! =)

Bye Horses!!!  Later when we were leaving RR Honey asked Hunter what his favorite part of the vacation was and he said, "riding horses". 

While we were off riding Coach, Honey and Maggie went to the playground!  We stayed at the Riverside and they have a nice little playground.  In fact I remember playing on that playground when I was little.  Maggie LOVED the swing! 

Coach took her to swing almost everyday! 

When we got back we found them at the playground.  Hunter told them all about the horses and the cowboy and then went off to play himself! 

It's funny because I have pictures of me when I was a little girl riding these horses!  But umm... that smile is a smile of pain.  Boy did my hiney hurt!  Those horses are not made for big people! =)

There is Coach and Honey watching us play!  Here is something cool... Honey vacationed at RR with her family when she was a little girl and so did Coach!  They both have memories of being at RR when they were little kids!  Now Maggie and Hunter will also have memories of RR!  Thank you, Honey and Coach!!

Maggie just had to put on Bubba's cowboy hat!  

Ohh... and by they way she said, "Bubba" for the very 1st time that morning!!!

We ended our awesome Tuesday with a little dancin' at the community center!  Hunter LOVED it!!!  I will try to get Ben to put the video of him dancing up! This is us doing the hokey pokey.

And guess who just happened to be dancing that night... Yep!  "the cowboy who saved my hat"  Here his Hunter with the cowboy!  He wanted to be where ever the cowboy was! =)  I love that little boy!!

Red River... here we come!

This past week we went to Red River, NM with Honey and Coach, Aunt Sarah & Uncle Craig, Kara & Mike, and Grammy Great!  We had a wonderful time!  Thank you so much Coach & Honey!  We had a blast!  Here is our trip in pictures...  Well the beginning of our trip anyway...

Hunter, Daddy and Coach left on Saturday morning.  They drove to Red River in 2 days.  They stopped to see the...

They went to the museum and watched a little video.  Hunter really watched the video and payed close attention.  Once it was time to hike around the volcano he didn't like it so much...

He did manage to pee on the top of the volcano! 

Still not happy!!!

Maggie, Honey and I didn't fly out until Monday afternoon.  We couldn't wait to get there!

Once they got to Red River on Sunday afternoon, Hunter couldn't wait to get out of the car and RUN!

and find a "boom stick"(I think he gets the stick thing from his Uncle David!)...

And throw some rocks in the creek...

and watch some humming birds on the front porch.  

Maggie, Honey and I finally arrived on Monday.  During the day Hunter and Daddy made lots of memories together.  Coach had to go pick us up at the airport so it was just Hunter and Daddy!  They did a lot of wrestling on the bed, they road the ski lift, they played by the creek and went down a really cool slide.  They had a great time!! 

Well... I'll blog more when I can!  I have to take a little boy to the bathroom!
