Arrrrrr.... A Pirate Party

Is it really time for Hunter's birthday, again??!  Didn't we just have his 4th Birthday party?
Well this Saturday, we celebrated Hunter's 5th Birthday with lots of his and our friends.  I loved making things for his party.  I think the kids enjoyed it and I know Hunter had a blast, that's what's most important.  Anyway... on to the party!

(Warning... LOTS of pictures to follow!)

Hunter demonstrating how you should wear the pirate head band like Jake and the Neverland Pirates.
Thank you Grumpy, they are awesome!

When the kids got to the party, they each could put on a head band, an eye patch and a hat if they wanted!

Logan says "Arrr!" (Isn't he cute!!?!)
Mostly everyone wore something!

Having fun!

After a little play time we had our pirate scavenger hunt.  We started at the tug of war.  The kids had to pull this big bucket off the 1st clue to see where they should go next.

Pull!!!

The clue sent them to walk to plank!

They had to walk to plank and then they each got a swing at the pirate hat pinata!
Cailey is the one who got the pinata!  Way to go, Cailey!

Inside the pinata was the next clue.  I think Kade found all the clues by the way! :)

Next up was the cannon balls!  They had to pop all the cannon balls (water balloons) to find the next clue.

They found an alligator inside one of the balloons, so they had to wrestle the alligator to find the next clue...

which took them to the quick sand.

They found little treasures while looking for the next clue.
The last clue took them to the playhouse where they found the treasure box.  Inside where pouches of gold (Rolos), pirate whistles and pirate compasses.  I think it was a success!

Lunch time!

Time for the cake!

Make a wish!!!

Yum!  Cake and Root Beer Floats!

presents!

Hunter and his girlfriend! Isn't she pretty!!

Sweet friends!

Thank you so much for coming to Hunter's birthday, everyone!  He had a blast!!!  It wouldn't have been the same without you!

And Happy Birthday, Hunter!!!  We love you so much!!!

Such a cute boy!

Nana and Grumpy came to visit for Memorial day!  Archer took a sweet nap with Nana.

Daddy and Archer took a little snooze on Monday.

Grumpy made Hunter these awesome pirate head bands for the party!  Hunter had to try them out!

It's official... the summer sign is on the door!

Sleepy boy, Archer didn't want to sleep in his bed.  He just wanted me to hold him! :)

Hunter thought Archer would love the giraffe tunnel... and he does!!!

Happy boy on Tuesday! :)  Still not feeling 100%

Monday was a 10!!!

Monday was a great day because it was Maggie's first gymnastics day!!!!! Woohoo!  Can you tell who is more excited about this??
As most of you know, gymnastics was my sport!  I LOVED it and still love it!  At the awesome gym here in Abilene, they offer a preschool class for 2 1/2 year olds and it's not one for mom and tot!  So I signed her up!  Actually Hunter took gymnastics last year. (See this post.) And I had been planning since last year that this would be Maggie's summer!
I ordered her an official GK leotard for her first class.  It came in the mail a couple of weeks ago and she LOVES to wear it around the house.  In fact the day it came in she put it on and then insisted to go out and jump.  That's my girl!
All the way to the gym she kept saying, "Me go jump, Wogan go jump, and Bubba go jump!"  She was so excited!

I really didn't know how she would do.  Honestly I was a little nervous!  Logan is taking gymnastics too and I could just picture them going off and doing their own thing.  I just didn't know if she would sit and wait her turn, but she did!  I really love Beamers.  They don't really make the kids sit and wait that long.

Walking backwards on beam!

On the high beam!  She walked pretty fast down the beam! :)

Hunter LOVES gymnastics, too!  This will be his last summer in the preschool program.  He has been wanting me to spot him on back handspring on our trampoline and he is actually pretty good!  I think he gets it from my cheerleaders.  We are really thinking about putting him the the boys class in the fall.

Three sweaty, candy eating kiddos!  They all had a blast... and were very excited to have a piece of candy and a sticker.

After gymnastics hug!  I LOVE these kids!

Meanwhile this little boy loved playing in the playhouse at the gym! :)

Over all I think they all had a great time!  I am so excited both Hunter and Maggie like gymnastics!  I'll take the good camera in a few weeks and take some better pictures! :)

Just in case you are wondering... The US National Championships for gymnastics is on tv this weekend!  It's on NBC on both Saturday and Sunday.

p.s. Have you seen this commercial?  I love it!  They have been running just the gymnastics one and although I was never that good, that was my mom!  She has always been my biggest fan!  Thank you, Mom!
